Fall 2014 Change of Major Application Process 

Health Science impaction criteria 

1. We will not accept students with a GPA lower than 2.6, but in reality, students who fall lower than a 3.0 are not likely to get in, as we have not accepted below a 3.0 for the past couple of years.  Our fall process is typically more competitive for change of majors due to fewer spots to offer because of the high number of transfer students coming in.    
2. Students must have completed at least 12 units at SJSU before they are eligible to apply to HS.   

Fall 2014 HS Application process: 

1. The fall 2014 online application will be available on Wednesday, May 28th through Friday, June 6th 
2. We will accept students based on GPA and we will use the higher GPA (SJSU or All College Cum) to favor the students.  GPA calculations must include Spring 2014 grades. (See *important note about SOTES below)
3. The application will be online and students can get on the list to be notified when it is available by signing up with the department directly, or signing up online here. 

Acceptance and Advising process will take place between June 9th and June 20th and we will have online and on-campus options for our newly admitted students. 

* Important note about SOTES* 

Students who want to apply to HS must complete online SOTES in order to access current academic standing including spring 2014 in time to apply.   SOTES must be completed by 5/14 and are available online through my.sjsu.   For students who complete all online SOTES, grades will be released May 28th and for students who do not, grades are not released until June 18th.
